The Best of the Bible Answer Man Broadcast
Hank Hanegraaff
The weekly podcast of the Bible Answer Man broadcast
On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Why did God choose Jerusalem as the first place to reveal Jesus? What about those who did not have a chance to hear about Jesus at that time? In Matthew 24, when Jesus speaks of the abomination of desolation and vultures gathered around a corpse, is He talking about idolatry and the Antichrist? I attend the Episcopal Church and our bishops have agreed to allow same sex marriage in the church; should we leave? I was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer, is God using this to bring me back to Him?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Is it possible for a non Christian to have morals? If someone was raised from birth to be a killer, is their chance for salvation impossible? Why are the tribes Ephraim and Dan not listed in the book of Revelation? When I am overcome with fear, should I rebuke it or is this an ongoing process? Does John 6:44 teach that everyone is called or given to the Son by the Father? Are there other passages that suggest this?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank welcomes author, speaker, and counselor Joe Dallas to discuss his latest book titled Speaking of Homosexuality: Discussing the Issues with Kindness and Clarity. According to Joe, the church is required to give a defense of the Christian claim that God has defined human sexuality in His Word and to do this clearly and compassionately. Joe tells of his struggle with homosexuality as a teenager and how the Holy Spirit convicted him of sin. He also addresses the argument that Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, the implications of marriage redefinition, and the persecution of Christians. On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank shares his thoughts on the cultural decline that has gone from divorce, premarital sex, and cohabitation, to the mainstreaming of homosexuality. We are no longer even allowed to ask if homosexuality is abnormal, but rather objections to it are now considered abnormal. We used to talk about gender identity disorder, but now gender is determined by feelings instead of ones biology. And those who dare to question this are crushed by the totalitarian boot of our culture, which demands our full acquiescence. Hank also answers the following questions: Do the saints mentioned in Daniel 7:21 refer to Israel? Is tithing still required in the New Testament? Did God give the people of Jericho an opportunity to repent? Is the soul created at conception or did we preexist? Do angels in heaven have a free will can they fall again like Satan and the third he took with him?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank brings up that as the summer months come along, people tend to read when they normally would not. He goes over some of the many benefits of reading in general, as well as the importance of reading Scripture. Hank also says that June is an important month, as it is the end of our fiscal year for our ministry at the Christian Research Institute, but also this month is important personally for Hank, as he informs listeners that this month he will be undergoing a stem cell transplant to treat his cancer, which is a potential cure for the disease. Hank also answers the following questions Is Jimmy Swaggart a reputable teacher? Is it okay to contribute money to him or watch his television program? I have been studying the Bible and I have encountered passages about predestination, which have caused me a lot of distress. If fatalistic determinism is true, then why should I pray for people to be saved?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses abortion, noting that all this talk about abortion misses the reality that a conceptus has full personhood from the moment of conception. Carl Sagan wrote about this in The Dragons of Eden, where he said that determining when a fetus becomes human would play a major role in achieving an acceptable compromise in the abortion debate. As Sagan calculated it, this transition to a human would fall between the first and second trimesters. The notion, says Hank, that a human being does not emerge during pregnancy until after the end of the first trimester is merely the figment of a fertile imagination. While an emerging embryo may not have a fully developed personality, it does have full personhood from the moment of conception. Hank also answers the following questions: The Bible says that there will be no more sea on the new earth, can you elaborate on that? Where will the Lake of Fire be? Is there a contradiction in Luke 24 about whether Jesus appeared to Simon? What are the distinguishing characteristics between Christianity and other religions? I am a former Jehovah’s Witness, can you talk about the 144,000?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank explains what it means to express your faith in God. Faith is ultimately grounded in the nature of God, and nothing is more crucial to a praying person than a proper perception of who God is. He is the one who wields supreme and ultimate authority. Therefore, from a biblical perspective, faith becomes a channel of living trust, an assurance that stretches from a human being to their God. Hank also answers the following questions: Are Christians allowed to eat halal food? Can you explain the Old Testament wedding ceremony?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank continues his examination into the words in the Lords Prayer, explaining what it means to pray forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Hank also answers the following questions: Is it necessary for salvation to attend a church? I heard a pastor say that Jesus Christ never carried the cross to Calvary. Is this correct? You have said that you dont believe in a pretribulational rapture Isnt Isaiah 26:20 speaking of a pretribulational rapture? Why does the Catholic Church have the books of Maccabees but Protestants do not?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank shares good news about his health and gives a follow up on a question he was asked on a previous broadcast about an apparent contradiction between the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. In Matthews Gospel, there is an account of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus going to Egypt, while Luke leaves out this account altogether and instead focuses on their return to Nazareth. But as Hank points out, this is not a contradiction but a faulty recounting of events by the caller.Hank also answers the following questions:I feel bad for not attending my parish, but I fear that I will lose what I gained in visiting other churches if I go back. Am I being selfish? How is someone going to tell the difference between the faith that you profess and the faith that my Hindu friend professes?I received a book in the mail titled The Awesome Potential of Man from the Restored Church of God. What is your opinion on it?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank says that he fears that oftentimes we can get into a sort of tradition with praying the Lords Prayer so that it loses its power and vigor, because we say the words without understanding that this is not a prayer mantra, but a prayer manner. So Hank goes over the phrases in the prayer, starting by explaining what it means to say Your kingdom come.Hank also answers the following questions: Isaiah prophesied about Christ how can modern-day Jews discount what one of their own prophets said as to who the Messiah was? What does the Bible say about cremation?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank shares his thoughts on the new heaven and new earth as described by the Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 310. Rather than an altogether different cosmos, Hank affirms that the heavens and the earth will be resurrected, not annihilated. God does not scrap His creations but restores them; therefore, Paradise lost will become Paradise restored. In light of this, Hank asks the question: if the cosmos and we ourselves will one day be resurrected, how then should we live? Hank also answers the following questions:If Satan would not have tempted Adam and Eve to sin, would he still have been condemned to hell? Will Iran be called Persia someday as spoken about in end time prophecy? Can you give me a better understanding of speaking in tongues? Can you clarify the meaning of the phrase God is love?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Who wrote the Pentateuch, and what are your thoughts on the idea of four other authors who wrote it later? Why did the devil tempt Jesus to jump from the pinnacle of the Temple? Can God be tempted? Is there any biblical evidence of the first calendar? I heard a preacher say that we dont have to ask for forgiveness for our sins, but dont we do it for our relationship with God? Is there one true church?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank features the brand new edition of the Christian Research Journal by discussing the cover story Why Marxism and Socialism Always Fails by Jay W. Richards. Marxism, rebranded as socialism today, is making a comeback, and in the politics of the progressive Left, the makeover is complete. But Marxs theory suffers the same malady as every materialistic theory it contradicts the existence of the theorist. Richards explains how it works and what we should know in this cover feature article in the current edition of the Christian Research Journal. Hank also answers the following questions Do we have the ability to bind and loose through faith in Christ? Does the Orthodox Church observe the practice of praying to the Saints in the same way as the Catholic Church? Arent we supposed to put effort into working rather than live paycheck to paycheck and rely on Gods provision? If Christ died for our past and future sins, would we be forgiven if we dont get a chance to repent of a sin?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Is the American Church neglecting the Great Commission? What is your view on the end times? Can one hold to modalism and still be saved? When we share the gospel, should we talk about the Trinity? Can you address the apparent contradictions of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels?e

On Todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: What is it that is dangerous about Joel Osteen? Is what he talks about kind of like Purgatory? Can you explain the difference between a Theophany and a Christophany, and when reading the Old Testament, how do we know the difference between the two? Ive heard that Ezekiel 28 is talking about the fall of Satan, but in Job 1:6 it seems like he is in heaven with God, and I get confused. Can you expound the Scriptural proof for the Trinity? I see Jesus showing reverence for the Father why is He called the Son and not the brother, if they are the same

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses an article in the Wall Street Journal on a new translation of the Bible by professor Robert Alter. According to Alter, the very first words of the Bible, In the beginning, have long been misconstrued. Thus, Alter alters the words to read, When God began to create the Heavens and the earth instead. This change was made because in his opinion God did not create the universe out of nothing rather he was merely an assembler of elements already in existence. As Hank points out, this is a very old canard. A canard that flies in the very face of big bang cosmology which lends credibility to the biblical contention that God created the universe out of nothing. As such big bang cosmology in concert with the Bible stands in stark opposition to the scientifically silly suggestion that the universe has eternally existed. Hank also answers the following questions In Matthew 16:18 it says the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. What are the gates of Hades? What is your opinion on Calvinism? When the apostles chose Matthias to replace Judas, were they going against God? Should Paul have been chosen instead? When someone passes away, does their spirit go directly to Heaven or Hell, or is there a waiting period before judgment? What are your thoughts on the debate of in whose name are we supposed to baptize?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: I don’t think your view that evil exists because of free will is satisfying. Isn’t evil just a byproduct of God’s creation? Do you know anything about God sending Moses and Ezekiel back to preach the Word? I’m a pastor in the United Methodist Church; how should I respond to the recent UMC vote on LGBTQ issues?

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank brings attention to two resources that are available to those that support the ministry of the Christian Research Institute and the Bible Answer Man broadcast, The Divine Conspiracy and The Spirit of the Disciplines, both by Dallas Willard. Both are books that Hank has read many times and values greatly and that is why we are making them available to you all this month. Hank shares a quote from Dallas Willard in his book, The Spirit of the Disciplines that underscores the importance of the spiritual disciplines. We have a head full of ideas, but a body unable to fend off sins. Why? Because we have not practiced the disciplines that Jesus Christ made plain for us during his earthly sojourn. Hank also answers the following questions: Is the data in your book The Face That Demonstrates The Farce of Evolution still relevant today? Should we use vaccines that are manufactured using aborted fetus cells? Whats the difference between sprinkling and immersion baptisms?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: How important is the name of Jesus as it relates to baptism? What is the difference between what Jesus and Peter said about whose name we should be baptized in? Is the name Lucifer a mistranslation that came from the Latin Vulgate? The passages in Ezekiel and Isaiah that supposedly talk about Lucifer seem to be talking about earthly kings. Why did Jesus switch between lamb and sheep in John 21:15-17? Is cremation a sin? Is Seventh Day Adventism within the pale of Christian orthodoxy?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Can you explain the parable of the mustard seed? How will those who have never heard the gospel be judged? Where did God come from? Why doesn’t the Bible mention anything about Jesus nursing? And why does the Bible say ashes to ashes, dust to dust if we don’t come from ashes? An atheist I am talking with says the Genesis account is flawed because light was created prior to the sun, moon, and stars. Is there an answer for this?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: How can I properly explain the eternal nature of Hell? As a Canadian teacher, I am being required to teach students about homosexuality and gender issues. How can I refuse to do this as a Christian, and keep my job? Could you share a little more about your book, The Covering? Since I have a mental illness and experience the world using a defective brain, how do I discern the will of the Lord?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Did Moses actually have a speech impediment when he complained to God that he could not speak well? How can I communicate effectively to other Christians that there will only be one Second Coming, and that the pre-tribulation Rapture doctrine is wrong? I have begun to read the Bible as literature. How do I maintain the understanding that it is inspired scripture?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses the current unrest in Venezuela. Once the richest economy in South America, Venezuela has with frightening rapidity become chaotic and impoverished. And as Hank claims, this could be our fate as well if someone like U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were to become President of the United States. In the short amount of time since Nicolás Maduro’s replacement of Hugo Chávez as President of Venezuela, the richest economy in South America has—through socialist revolution—become utter chaos. Even basic commodities of life are lacking. How ironic that some U.S. politicians like Senator Bernie Sanders and the aforementioned Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez want socialism for the U.S. As Hank puts it, to be ignorant of the devastating consequences of socialism or for that matter the basic premise of Christian capitalism is a prescription for disaster.Hank also answers the following questions:In Revelation 7:14 it says “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation.” Does this mean that the Church will go through the great tribulation? Does the Garden of Eden still exist?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses Roe v. Wade, this year being the 46th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision. Since then, 60 million babies have been killed in the United States alone. Worldwide, between 40 and 50 million abortions are performed each year—approximately 125,000 abortions every single day. Hank recalls an interview he saw recently with actress Ashley Bratcher, who plays anti-abortion activist Abby Johnson in a soon-to-be-released biopic titled Unplanned. Bratcher discussed in the interview her own story about abortion; when telling her mother of the role, her mother broke down in tears and informed her that when she was 19, she was going to have an abortion but at the last minute couldn’t go through with it, and she chose life—she chose Ashley. Hank also answers the following question: Why did Jesus tell those He healed to not tell anyone?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: Does Hebrews 6:4-6 teach that one can lose their salvation? Will our resurrected bodies have scars from this life as Jesus did? What was the selection process for the New Testament? Does it matter what you believe about the rapture

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses an article he read in The Wall Street Journal titled, “Marijuana Is More Dangerous Than You Think” by Alex Berenson. The article explores the rising social acceptance of marijuana use, both medically and recreationally, as well as the dangers that lie below the surface. In addition, Hank also addresses another addiction—an addiction that has lowered the average attention span over the past few years—social media. Hank also answers the following questions: Once saved always saved? Do we need to repent after every sin? Does the parable of the talents prove that salvation can be lost?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank mentions the new resource available for your support of the ministry of CRI all this month, The Human Advantage: The Future of American Work in an Age of Smart Machines by Dr. Jay Richards. For many Americans the current doldrums are as much about an imagined past or future as present pain, according to Dr. Richards. Americans today are healthier and wealthier than they were just a few decades before, and live in an age of historic innovation. Yet so many notice only the costs and so few appreciate the blessings and promises of freedom. As Dr. Richards lays out in his book, it’s because we like harmful myths more than helpful truths. Hank also addresses the issue of abortion, with the report that the leading cause of death in the world in 2018 was abortion—over 41 million children killed before birth. In the second segment of the broadcast, Hank talks about rewards in Heaven

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, we present an episode of the Hank Unplugged podcast in which Hank talked with prominent author and social critic, Os Guinness.

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank stresses the importance of Os Guinness’ new book, Last Call for Liberty. If you care about American liberties and the future of our nation, Last Call for Liberty is an absolute must-read. Few issues are more fundamental than our most basic liberties… and those liberties are under attack like never before. Political debate has degenerated into degrading and barbaric incivility. American leaders and opinion leaders are at each other’s throats intent on tearing each other apart. Many Americans are seething with rage over other Americans and so America is locked in a mortal struggle for what each side believes is the soul of the republic. As Os Guinness puts it, what we are seeing is not politics as usual, but politics in a dangerous radical style led by leaders who should know better. Hank also answers the following questions: Do animals have souls? What does the Bible say about suicide? Isn’t suicide a lack of trust in God?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank highlights a section from Os Guinness’ new book, Last Call for Liberty, where Guinness points out that the freedom of the American experiment hangs by a thread and we must make a choice. Will you choose between 1776—the American Revolution, or 1789—the French Revolution. One leads to renewal and restoration—the other to decadence and decline. The choice that you must make is yours and yours alone—and so also, will be the consequences. Hank also answers the following questions: Where do I turn for sound biblical teaching to refute the false teachings of ministries like Restored to Freedom? Why did God create Satan knowing that he would turn against Him? Was this supposed to happen to teach us about evil and suffering?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: I recently heard a teaching that Christ not only died physically on the cross, but spiritually. What do you think about this? A friend of mine has been talking about theistic evolution and sending me information from BioLogos; do you have any information on them? Do you think there is only one true religion? The Prime Minister of Pakistan wants the United Nations to pass a resolution to ban the criticism of Islam—what are your thoughts? When and how do we evaluate Church tradition? What should we as Christians do in response to the migrant crisis?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank mentions an article on the rise of suicides in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide rates have gone up in every state over the last several years. It is the 10th leading cause of death in America. Some would think that suicide is a secular problem, but the truth of the matter is that suicide is not relegated to any particular segment of society. Hank is frequently asked if suicide is an unforgivable sin, and while it is not unforgivable, it is a direct attack on the sovereignty of the very one who knit us together in our mother’s womb. Hank also shares the Alabama Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Jessie Phillips v. State of Alabama, in which they ruled that the value of the life of an unborn child is no less than the value of the lives of other persons. In a concurring opinion, Justice Tom Parker boldly called on the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. Hank also answers the following questions: What is Universalism? In John 9, why did the disciples think that the man born blind had sinned? Why did Jesus heal the blind man at Bethsaida twice? Was Jesus’ temptation similar to ours? How could that be if he didn’t have the original sin that we were born with?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: When was Abraham justified by faith, and how are our works involved with our justification by faith? In Matthew 24 it says that one will be taken and one will be left behind. Is this actually referring to the rapture? Can you clarify some things about tithing? Is it okay to compare scripture with other texts like the Communist Manifesto?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank gives an update on his battle with stage 4 Mantle cell lymphoma. Recently he received the news that he was officially in remission. Hank uses this experience to reflect on the grace of God. Hank also answers the following questions: My friend was involved in Wicca before receiving Christ but then turned back. Can you advise me? How can I tell if Im being called into ministry? Does Isaiah 66:17 prohibit the eating of pigs and GMOs? Are we required to keep the Sabbath?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank presents the newest resource available for those that support the ministry of CRI all this month, The Call of the Cosmos: What the Universe Reveals about God, a new film by Illustra Media. This stunning new film points to a cosmic designer with unsurpassed artistry, wisdom, and unfathomable power. It’s hard to believe that anyone who watches this film could walk away unconvinced of a creator, making it must-see viewing for believers and skeptics alike. Hank also shares a sermon from St. John Chrysostom that was sent to him by a dear friend and it has been a balm of Gilead in Hank’s life and he prays that it will be a balm of Gilead in your life as well. Hank also answers the following questions: Why did Mary give a sin offering if she was without sin? My prayer group is going to see these so-called modern day apostles. How do I confront them about this? Does the law of divorce in Deuteronomy 24 apply to us today?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank starts off by addressing some of the questions we've received about marijuana, which are becoming increasingly prevalent because of Canada’s recent legalization of recreational marijuana. Hank answers the question of whether it is a sin to consume marijuana, as well as whether it is ethical for a Christian to invest in marijuana stock. Hank also answers the following questions: Did Emperor Constantine put the Bible together and leave scriptures out? Dr. David Jeremiah has said that God scientifically engineers problems in the lives of Christians. What is your take on this? A coworker told me that the real Israelites are African. What are the biblical facts to refute this claim?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank answers the following questions: How should we respond to young women in the church who are having children out of wedlock? Can you explain a quote you read recently about if you don’t have mother church you don’t have the Father? What are your thoughts on Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the cost of discipleship?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank takes a deep dive into the topic of gender identity. It is not too much of a stretch to say that America—and vicariously the world—is on the verge of madness and self-destruction. The Post-truth climate of contemporary morality has pitted those who believe in the natural order of male and female against those who contend that gender is nothing but a social construct. Hank highlights an article by Glen Stanton titled, “Four Reasons Gender Theory Is Ridiculous” which illustrates that current gender theory is fraught with contradiction. The most basic tenet of gender theory is that human genders are as diverse as the hues of a rainbow. But at the same time, they are advertising T-shirts that come in only two styles—male or female. Hardly a non-binary choice. Or consider the acronym LGBT, which in and of itself mandates binary choices. If we as Americans are to avert a fall that mirrors that of Rome we must know the truth and make the truth known, particularly when it comes to the most basic distinction known to humanity—that of male and female.

On today’s special edition of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, we present an episode of the Hank Unplugged podcast. Hank’s guest is cold-case homicide detective J. Warner Wallace, author of Cold-Case Christianity, God’s Crime Scene, and Forensic Faith.

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (10/02/18), Hank answers the following questions: Is Louis Farrakhan the real deal or just another cult leader? What is the proper Hebrew name for Jesus and God? Do you know anything about Black Hebrew Israelites? What are your thoughts on amillennialism? Can you address the beliefs of the Bahá’í Faith? Can you advise me on how to be a better witness to Muslims?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (10/01/18), Hank discusses an article he read in the National Review by Jonah Goldberg titled, “The Moral-Panic Phase.” In this article, Goldberg is commenting on the idea that Judge Kavanaugh cannot be a Supreme Court Justice because of the passion he displayed in defending himself during the Senate Judiciary committee hearings on September 27th. If Kavanaugh had been coldly dispassionate, the opposition would be using that as evidence of him being an emotionless monster who lacks the basic human decency to take offence at being called a rapist. As Goldberg wisely notes, judges are not expected to be cold and dispassionate in the face of charges about themselves. That’s why they recuse themselves from cases in which they have a personal interest. Hank also answers the following question: What is your opinion on the Hippie Christian movement?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/20/18), Hank starts off by saying that he has something that he wanted to bring to your attention on today’s broadcast. This morning Hank read an article in the Federalist titled, “U.S. Doctors Are Performing Double Mastectomies On Healthy 13-Year-Old Girls” by Jane Robbins. In the article, Robbins highlights a trend of physicians performing double mastectomies on healthy teen girls—some as young as 13—under the justification of gender dysphoria. The article focuses on a study that was funded by the National Institutes of Health using federal tax money and led by researchers like Dr. Johanna Olson. As Robbins states, “the study is fundamentally skewed toward the conclusions transgender activists desire: it contains no control group of subjects who will be spared these drugs, and will expire after five years, long before many negative effects may surface.”

On today’s special edition of the Bible Answer Man, we pick up where we ended on our previous broadcast and present the second half of an episode of the Hank Unplugged podcast in which Hank talked with Middle East and Islam research specialist Raymond Ibrahim.

On today’s special edition of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, we present another episode of the Hank Unplugged podcast. Hank’s guest is Raymond Ibrahim, a Middle East and Islam research specialist.

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (9/26/2018), Hank conveyed that in questioning Judge Brett Kavanagh during the confirmation hearing, Senator Diane Feinstein made it crystal clear that her ultimate concern was preserving Roe v. Wade. Feinstein told Kavanaugh, “In the 1950s and 60s, the two decades before Roe, deaths from illegal abortions in this country ran between 200,000 and 1.2 million…I don’t want to go back to those death tolls in this country.” Feinstein was quite obviously unconcerned about the 3000 preborn children who died in the United States that day. In the 21 days from then till now 63,000 more children have been put to death. Furthermore, as reported by the Associated Press, Feinstein “vastly overstated” the number of women who died in illegal abortions prior to Roe v. Wade. Whatever the number of women who may have died in the process of aborting their pre-born children, it pales by comparison to the number of babies who have been or are being killed. Hank also addresses these questions: Who was Mary Baker Eddy – and what was Christian Science? What happens to our spirit after death

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (9/25/2018), Hank said that in tandem with unverified accusations against US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, repressed memories are in the daily news cycle these days—and with a vengeance. This, of course, is nothing new. In The Covering he noted Lauren Strafford’s bestseller Satan’s Underground, which became “a key source for promoting and validating the ‘repressed memories’ hysteria that peaked in the early 1990s.” Recovered memories are often disclosed in therapy settings. They begin with seemingly unrelated problems such as sleep, eating disorders, or depression. During the course of treatment, either the therapist or the client raises the possibility of repressed memories. At first the survivor may not remember anything but after long term intensive treatment gradually pieces together a complex history of abuse. Often the therapist decides that the repression was facilitated by a dissociative state—and that after prolonged questioning. Accusations against public officials, personalities, neighbors, or other more distant adults usually come only after cases have been sensationalized. Hank also addresses the following question: Should Christians be non-partisan and not take a side on the Kavanaugh controversy?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (9/24/2018), Hank shared about his heart-wrenching experience of laying his dear mother’s body to rest over the weekend. “We do not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 ESV). At the end of the broadcast, Hank also spoke about the necessity but rarity of truth in our current milieu—the 17th century French mathematician and Christian apologist Blaise Pascal’s words are prophetically appropriate: “Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that, unless we love the truth, we cannot know it.” Hank also addresses these questions: Prayer request from Dawn of Winter Springs, Florida to pray for her father who has stage four lung cancer. Why did God command the Israelites to annihilate the Canaanites?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses an article he wrote in the current edition of the Christian Research Journal on the incarnation, answering the question as to whether incarnation is logically incoherent. It is more than intoxicating to reflect on the reality that as Christ is incarnate in the image of humankind, so humanity in Christ is being refashioned in the image of God. Far from being reproductions of God, human beings are more correctly portrayed as reflections of God. It is liberating for believers to revel in the reality that in the consummation of all things God will completely restore the Imago Dei in fallen humanity. Had the incarnate Christ not come in the image and likeness of man, there would be no hope for humanity to be refashioned in the Imago Dei. Hank answers the following questions: How can I explain to my non-believing friends and family that God has no beginning? Why are there so many laws listed in Exodus and what are they meant to accomplish? How should you approach someone from another denomination who refuses to have a dialogue? What are your thoughts on paranormal activity?

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/19/18), Hank discusses an article he read in the National Review that caused all kinds of thoughts to rattle through his mind. The article is titled “Democrats, Kavanaugh, and ‘The End of Civilization’” by Andrew C. McCarthy. In the article McCarthy recalls a story that Judge Robert Bork used to tell about watching Clarence Thomas’s Senate confirmation hearings. Bork described it in apocalyptic fashion—in fact, he quipped that it portended “the end of civilization.” He knew precisely what he was talking about as he too had been mugged during his own confirmation hearings. As McCarthy put it, with U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, we appear to have reached the metaphorical end of civilization that Bork foresaw. A time in which a Supreme Court nominee is in danger of being disqualified based on unprosecuted, unprovable, and largely unremembered misconduct that allegedly occurred in high school. This sets a dangerous precedent that will eventually lead to decent, qualified people shying away from public service because they would want no part of this blood sport, leaving a vacuum to be filled by the least qualified. How can we hear God’s voice? What’s the best way to study the Bible?
