A Devastating Loss in Los Angeles In 2016, Sergeant Steve Owen, a 29-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was murdered in cold blood while responding to a burglary call in Lancaster, California. This was no ordinary loss; Steve was known for his dedication, his compassion, and his leadership in the community. In a tragic series of events, a career criminal ambushed and executed him, shattering not only his family but also the entire community he had spent nearly three decades serving.
