We meet Kelly Barnes, an award winning business woman who has built a life she does not need to take a holiday from, she lets us know how she has achieved a work/life balance - what a lot of us yearn for. We also meet someone who is building a business after the death of her father, Nicky Burnett is the founder of Amare Luxury Fragrance, she is building a sustainable brand of Luxury candles to encourage folks to cherish a few moments of self care.Lou and Jinty tell us why, and how, they changed their lives to make sure that work-life balance was in place as they both go through menopause an beyond.Our Book Collective are well underway with Bella Mackie’s How to Kill Your Family and we look at some great quotes that Mackie has written within the pages. And as always there’s some amazing comments from the Collective. Kelly Barnes is the co-owner of Krispies Fish and Chip shops she is truly a breath of positivity. Kelly, otherwise known as Mrs Krispie, is the award winning owner of Krispies with her husband Tim. In 2019 they won the National Chip Shop Awards naming them the best chippie in the UK . There are an estimated 10,500 Fish and Chip shops in the UK selling 382 million meals every year, as a woman to work and succeed in this type of industry whilst raising a family you have to be quite extraordinary and succeed in balancing work and home life. Kelly tells her story of living and breathing work, so much so it took over her entire life, but she had a light bulb moment, after seeking out a life coach for her staff Kelly realised it was her that needed the help. Through using the tools she received along with some self reflection she has achieved a life she doesn’t need a holiday from.
