Episode Summary

This week we sort out all the worlds problems with our guest Rosie Johnson of Rosie Johnson Illustrates. We are very lucky that Rosie is based here in Devon but her creative talents are an international success, producing Prints, cards, fashion, Jewellery and pins. She also does design work, book illustration and as if that’s not enough she’s invented a great card game for children, Natter Matters. We get angry this week at topics in the news, especially footballers and their sponsors and how raising our voice can be very cathartic. There’s fashion news – are we ready to embrace the most uncomfortable item of clothing that’s making a come-back? Our #wheresmyclinic campaign for a Menopause Clinic in Devon has now launched a website with the petition and template letters to send to your MP and local CCG. https://menopauseclinicfordevon.co.uk In the Book Collective we are on our penultimate week of Bernadine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other. The Foodie continues with our theme this month, Chinese cuisine. Rosie was a primary school teacher for 15 years, But has been illustrating for nearly 6 years. A self confessed bleeding heart lefty snowflake who loves marmite who invented a card game called Natter Matters to help children and adults talk through difficult emotional subjects. We created our own Natter Matters Womenkind Collective styl-ey and discussed all the important things in life in Rosie’s unique way. It’s raw and totally enthralling read that every woman should read. It’s another cooking day for Jinty in the Foodie this week, and it’s a very tasty and nutritious salt and pepper tofu stir fry. Our Wine Collective as we approach the end of the month is announced with Lou choosing Trivento Malbec a well-balanced velvety red from Argentina and priced in supermarkets around £9. Our WI learning to dance Cameo’s Candy Dance routine, and it’s marginally better this week although there is still an issue with knowing our left foot from our right!
