We talk bones, osteoporosis and menopause with the very informative McTimoney Chiropractor Kathryn Vickery. It’s also our birthday and we have a look back at our first episode. We find out more about the government’s Enough campaign, a communication website aimed at helping women, but is it Enough? Jinty has some very relevant fashion news from Marie Claire Ukraine. The Foodie this week is a very cheap nutritious meal on a budget that comes in at 72p per person. The WI this week we look at death wishes, are you prepared for death? Lou has a list that will help you consider what you would like.In the Book we continue with the brilliant How To Leave Your Psychopath by Maddy Anholt, you will laugh and cringe all on the same page with her superb writing skill. We update you on our #wheresmyclinic campaign for a Menopause Clinic in Devon. And finally, we are running our first Menopause Cafe on International Women’s Day. Kathryn is a chiropractor with over 18 years’ experience, she started training in herbal medicine and moved to becoming a McTimoney practitioner. Kathryn tells us exactly what osteoporosis is and if there is any we to reverse the very early stages of this bone disease. Menopause and low levels of oestrogen can increase your chances of developing osteoporosis, as can race, family history and poor diet. Full of information and useful advice on all aspects of bone health and osteoporosis. Find Kathryn here https://dartmoorchiro.co.uk/ Our Book Collective is completely stuck into Maddy Anholt’s How To Leave Your psychopath, we meet some of Maddy’s ex’s and one of them is especially high on the psychometer, then there’s her boyfriend in sixth form who does something so cringeworthy she has to take 2 weeks off school. The characters we have met so far in this book are men that most women have come across in their lifetime, but she writes with the utmost honesty and tells her truth. Next week we read up to page 242. How did you get on with last week’s WI? Jinty reveals how she is now more accepting of her scars and Lou sets a new WI about death wishes, there’s a whole list to complete about end of life care, funeral service, burial/cremation and wake and also the admin where are your passwords? Deeds? Will? . We also ask the question why don’t we have a day to celebrate our lost loved ones? If you would like a copy of the Death Wishes sheet please email us: womenkindcollective@gmail.com Our Foodie theme this month is healthy food on a budget and Lou cooks her family dish of Macaroni cheese with a nutritious twist for 4 people.
