We are very excited to be joined today by the wonderful Dr Charlotte Patton who is a Women’s Health GP with a special interest in contraception, sexual health and menopause care.Charlotte has worked in a sexual health clinic and currently shares her time between an NHS GP practice and a private practice and Derriford Hospital Plymouth, as well as being involved with teaching at both Peninsula Medical school and the University of Exeter.This year, Charlotte has started teaching a ‘Student Selected Unit’ in medical humanities at the University of Exeter to fourth year medical students. It is entitled ‘Celebrating the female body through art’ and we find out how this came about and the significant implications it could have in helping to reduce stigma and break down barriers in the context of the female body. We also ask Charlotte about where her passion for womens health came from, her favourite female artists and she talks with us about Menopause, sex and taboo and more! In the Book Collective we continue with our book, Twelve Moons.
