Transcript Podcast Introduction It’s Gospels Saturday, and we’ll read Acts 17-18. I’m calling this episode “Sharing the Gospel – Our Role and the Holy Spirit’s Role.“ Today’s Bible Translation Bible translation used in today’s episode: Ch. 17 NCV, Ch. 18 CEB Executive Producer Anonymous Associate Producer Lifespring! Family Berean Sister Ann Michael Haner James in Norway Design: Jason Paschall | Photo: Midjourney Summary In Acts 18:5-6, Paul was telling the Jews about Jesus being the Christ, but they opposed him and insulted him. Instead of changing his approach to convince them, Paul reacted differently. He protested by shaking the dust off his clothes and declared that they were responsible for their own choices. He decided to share the message with the Gentiles instead of obsessing over converting every person. We should remember that our role is to faithfully deliver the message, not force belief. The Holy Spirit is the one who convinces, not us. Though we should be ready to answer questions, we can’t change hearts. Our responsibility ends once we share the message. However, this doesn’t mean we should be careless about sharing our beliefs. In verse 28, Apollos is mentioned as someone who energetically debated with Jewish arguments using scripture to show Jesus as the Christ. He used scripture, the living Word of God, not just his own thoughts. Our arguments might be weak, but God’s Word is powerful and can truly make a difference. Listen to the episode for more!
