And, make no mistake about it, when they said "Save the Trees," they didn't mean they wanted to save the trees. They meant they wanted the government to step in and use force by stealing people's land to save the trees. Fast forward to today. I guess environmentalists and conservationists decided to do just that. A Bay Area conservation group struck a deal to buy and to protect the world's largest remaining privately owned sequoia forest for $15.6 million. WHAT'S IN THE NEWS In bad boys update, Amber Guyger, the cop who killed Bothan Jean in his own apartment, was found guilty of murder. In good cop news, Fairfax County Connecticut Police Chief Edwin C. Roessler Jr. said he suspended an officer who cooperated with federal deportation officers by turning over an illegal immigrant he encountered during a traffic stop — a move the chief said violated department policy.
