The Message That Changes Everything
Today on the Lifespring One Year Bible Rewind, we spend time in Romans 9 and 10, two chapters filled with deep teaching and life changing truth. Paul talks about God’s purpose, His mercy, and His faithfulness. He also explains how salvation works, and why the message of Jesus must be shared clearly and confidently. As we move through the text, we see how God keeps His promises and how our response to Him matters.
God’s Purpose and Mercy
Romans 9 shows us that God works according to His purpose. Paul reminds us that God has the right to show mercy, and that His plan is never based on human effort. Instead, God acts from His character and His goodness. This helps us rest in His sovereignty. It also teaches us that His mercy is a gift. Because of this, we learn to trust Him more deeply.
Salvation Made Simple
Romans 10 gives us one of the clearest summaries of the gospel found anywhere in Scripture. Paul says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Because this message is so simple, even a child can understand it. Furthermore, Paul tells us that this promise is for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. No one is excluded.
Why We Must Share the Message
Paul then asks a series of questions that lead us to one clear conclusion. People cannot believe in Jesus unless they hear about Him. Therefore, followers of Jesus must speak about Him. Our lives should show that we belong to Him, but our voices must also tell His story. As you think about your own walk with Christ, consider who in your life needs to hear this message. If God has changed your life, you already have a story worth telling.
On This Date in Church History
In today’s historical segment, we remember how leaders like John Wycliffe, early YMCA missionaries, and the founders of Moody Radio helped carry the gospel to new places. Their courage reminds us that God often uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. (For more, visit this historical overview.)
