On a recent radio interview, we discussed why the major media performs so poorly in polls about trust in the news, and yet, they are still influential in setting the agenda. Congress has low approval ratings -- lower than the press! -- and yet Congress is still our legislative authority. The power to decide what is "news" must still be challenged in every news cycle.
