  • you need price mechanism -- you dont know what there is a shortage of and what is not. monopoly of news, no discourse and no feedback mechanism.
  • example of russian experience in America. --- the most mundane will be the biggest of difference
  • sudden collapse of communism. --- Mikhail Gorbachev.
  • tormet of the communist state? ---torture confessions of people. ---cant get a confession? Are you (imvestigator) an enemy of a state.
  • sold food to others (than the starving). evil for that sake. -- freedom of information (antidote)
  • culac? kulak? mechanism of resentment. -- deincentivices produtivity
  • truth prevails. asymmetry of trust (you dont have yo kill someone everyday to be a murderer)
  • "careful what you wish for" --- "anyone is better" (than authorotarian) ---
  • what is it with scapegoats? humams define themselves by oppoaition. --- the idea that we "all get along" is false. --- when things are bad, and we all have a common enemy, is when we get together (need an out group)
  • when things go bad, you need a scapegoat/boat --- if you are someome who points out flaws, you are "counter revolutionary" (hence so many flaws in authoritarian countries)
  • "be less weird". -- follow a " normal" path.
  • authoritarian (communism): You not only dont have freedom of speech, you do not have freedom of silence -- you cant just sit there, you have to say how great it is
  • nothing is obvious in politics. untried ideas sounds great (by talking how great its going to be).
