I think one issue that is plaguing a lot of open source developers, and it's not just with Bitcoin or Nostra specific, is just figuring out ways for sustainable long term support. Right now, a lot of funding in open source is on a grant based model, where you give someone a grant to work for maybe 6 months, a year, maybe 2 years if you're lucky. And then 6 months, a year, 2 years down the line, you reassess. And that can be very stressful for developers who don't know whether they're going to have an income or salary after their grant is over.
