I opened the show after one of those classic technical-trousers mornings: power outages overnight, a stubborn Adobe Acrobat pop-up blocking my setup, and a near miss that almost kept us off the air. Thankfully Paul English jumped in early, helped me get things sorted, and stayed on to co-pilot a wide-ranging conversation. We talked about how dependent people have become on technology, how fragile these systems can be when they fail at exactly the wrong time, and how even a rough start can still turn into a meaningful broadcast with the right people in the room.From there, Paul and I dug into the bigger themes on everyone’s mind: geopolitical tension, media narratives, power, control, and the public’s growing sense that something is deeply wrong.
