Finance, Bitcoin, debt, and consumer culture
Episode Summary
Paul joined me for our usual Wednesday conversation, and we covered a lot of ground—from the way major events are packaged, rushed through the news cycle, and replaced before the public can really process them, to the broader question of how propaganda, distraction, and emotional exhaustion shape public opinion. Chris and several callers added to the discussion, and we kept circling back to the same concern: how hard it is for ordinary people to separate signal from noise when the media environment is built to keep everyone reactive instead of reflective. We also spent a big part of the hour on money, debt, and power. That led us into a deeper discussion of credit, taxation, seigniorage, historical money systems, and why control of finance sits at the center of political control. Along the way we referenced books, articles, films, and historical writers that shaped the conversation, and we closed by deciding that the monetary system deserved a dedicated follow-up episode of its own. The conversation also touched on a number of controversial historical and political interpretations raised by the guests and callers.FCC Live discussion links on thematrixdocs.comGlobal Voice Radio: http://globalvoiceradio.net/The Matrix Docs: http://globalvoiceradio.net/matrixRadio Rach Archives & Live Streams: http://radio.globalvoiceradio.net/Alvin Lee: https://alvinlee.com/Ten Years After: https://ten-years-after.co.uk/Gladiator (Paramount): https://www.paramountmovies.com/movies/gladiatorAnticipations by H.
