From there, Chris and I got into passports, residency, and the practical realities of living abroad, with plenty of side trails through Argentina, Ecuador, embassies, visas, and what it really means to navigate systems that never seem designed to help ordinary people. We also touched on the value of personal responsibility, herd mentality, and why so many people can sense that something is wrong even if they can’t yet explain it.In the second half, the conversation widened out into one of those classic Radio Ranch rabbit-hole sessions. We looked at the absurdity of a piece claiming dogs are tools of white supremacy, then moved into the unrest in France, police suicides during the Yellow Vest era, the Bonus Army, the 14th Amendment, citizenship and nationality, law versus equity, and how language itself is used to steer people into confusion.
