Israel lobby talk and limits on public criticism

Episode Summary

In this episode, I welcomed Paul back for our Wednesday roundtable and we opened with a very real look at the technical frustrations of broadcasting from my new setup in Ecuador—everything from internet lines and routers to echoes, headsets, barking dogs, and the joys of live radio. From there, the conversation widened into a freewheeling discussion about China, language, culture, cars, and infrastructure, including Jim Rogers’ move to Asia, Jeremy Clarkson’s motoring shows, and how rapidly China has built itself into an industrial force. We also spent a lot of time on bigger-picture themes: media manipulation, "predictive programming," the power of language, and the way public opinion is shaped through repetition and confusion. Along the way we touched on Michael Hoffman’s work, Joseph Sobran’s observations about rhetoric, Timbs v. Indiana and asset forfeiture, the Rutherford Institute, gold and silver as legal tender, and the growing sense that the public is starting to question old assumptions. It was one of those wide-ranging conversations where tech headaches, geopolitics, law, and culture all met in one place—and somehow still carried us to the close.Global Voice Radio Network: http://globalvoiceradio.netThe Matrix Docs: http://globalvoiceradio.net/matrix/Jim Rogers: https://www.jimrogers.com/Top Gear TV: https://www.topgear.com/car-news/top-gear-tvThe Grand Tour (Prime Video): https://www.primevideo.com/-/pt/detail/0PQETKSPCYRRYT0IFUIS9G1CQ2Cafe Du Monde: https://shop.cafedumonde.com/locations/The Rutherford Institute: https://www.rutherford.org/Timbs v.
